Dive Planning
Plan a dive. Make sure to choose a tank size, a depth that you will dive to, and the amount of time that you will spend underwater. Include a graph of the amount of oxygen you will have remaining over time.
Explain how you can increase the duration of your dive. Describe how to model this change using transformations.
Did You Know?
- The world record for the deepest SCUBA dive is 332.35 meters, by Egyptian diver Ahmed Gabr, off the coast of Dahab, Egypt in 2014. Ahmed reached the record depth in 12 minutes but required almost 15 hours to return to the surface due to various risks of water pressure on the body.
- While SCUBA diving can be a recreational activity, you need to be legally certified to dive. Learning on your own can be very dangerous and does not lead to certification.
